How do you build a 22-inch glass Lamborghini from scratch?

 

I drove out to California and sat down with Hoobs at his studio and talked through the full story. How Molten Art Classic started as Ziggy's five-year anniversary party and evolved over a decade into one of the biggest collaborative glass projects in the scene, how he invented a custom rolling kiln by grinding out the base and building a track so the floor slides out, the 49-pound space station that filled the entire kiln, every car he's built from the Lamborghini to the 65 Impala to the Ghostbusters collab, his breakdown of the artists who defined the pipe scene across two decades, the plan to tour all eight Molten Art pieces through museums as one exhibit, his experience filming the Hulu series "420 on 420" with Jimmy Kimmel's production crew, dichro coating techniques, AR glasses and exoskeletons as the future of the craft, law of attraction philosophy, and real advice for young glass blowers trying to find their voice.
